Генеральный секретарь призвал вернуться к женевским переговорам по Украине

ООН, 12.05.2014 — В ООН призывают жителей Украины выражать свои претензии в форме диалога, а Генеральный секретарь Пан Ги Мун напоминает о необходимости вернуться к формату и духу женевских переговоров.


На брифинге для журналистов в понедельник Пресс-секретарь Генерального секретаря Стефан Дюжаррик заметил, что в ООН следили за голосованием на референдуме в восточной Украине. По его мнению, ситуация там – по-прежнему чрезвычайно нестабильная.

«Вчерашние события лишь добавляют напряженности, - сказал Дюжаррик, - Свое недовольство жители Украины должны выражать в ходе подлинного ориентированного на результаты диалога между властями и людьми на местах».

По словам Пресс-секретаря, ООН готова оказать необходимую поддержку том случае, если поступит соответствующая просьба.
Отвечая на вопрос о возможности участия представителей восточной Украины в переговорах по урегулированию кризиса, Стефан Дюжаррик сказал, что, по мнению Генерального секретаря, Женевское заявление – это единственный документ, согласованный сторонами. Представитель ООН заметил, что, прежде чем говорить о новых соглашениях, нужно вернуться к уже достигнутым договоренностям.

• Ban Ki-moon сalls for implementation of first Geneva agreement on Ukraine.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is urging the participants of the April Geneva talks to implement all the provisions in the agreement to regulate the Ukrainian crisis and sees the involvement of the country's Eastern regions in the new talks as unnecessary, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on Monday.

Answering a question by RIA Novosti concerning the recent proposal to engage eastern Ukraine's regions in talks aimed to resolve the ongoing conflict Dujarric stressed that according to the Secretary General it was essential to first bring to the negotiating table once again all those who signed the Geneva agreements. The first round of the Geneva talks on the Ukrainian situation attended by top diplomats from Russia, the United States, the European Union and Ukraine took place on April 17.

The four-party meeting then resulted in a number of agreements that urged the coup-imposed regime and its opposition in Ukraine to refrain from violence, extremism and provocations, to disarm militants and launch a national dialog on constitutional reform. Despite promises to lay down arms, the Kiev authorities launched a large-scale military operation in the southeastern regions of Ukraine last month to crack down on federalization supporters.
