UN Security council renews rejection of recognizing Israeli occupation annexation of Syrian Golan

 UN Security council affirmed on Tuesday its rejection of recognizing the Israeli occupation entity’s annexation of the occupied Syrian Golan, expressing concern over the latest statements by officials of this entity regarding consolidating their occupation of the Syrian territories.

The Security Council 15 member states expressed worry over the latest Israeli statements about Golan, asserting the status of Golan remains without any change, according to AFP.

President of the Council, Chinese Ambassador LIU Jieyi announced that the Israeli decision of annexing Golan and imposing its laws on it is “null and void” according to the United Nations Security Council resolution 497, adopted unanimously on 17 December 1981, which declared that “the Israeli Golan Heights Law, which annexed the Golan Heights, is null and void and without international legal effect” and further called on “Israel” to rescind its action.

Syria has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation government’s move which held a provocative meeting in Golan on April 17th, asserting it is null, calling on the UN to immediately interfere and condemn holding such a meeting.
