Russia has suspended the use of Iranian Hamadan air base in the interests of the air campaign in Syria. This was stated by foreign Ministry spokesman of Iran Bahram qasemi, the Agency Tasnim on Monday, August 22.
According to qasemi, the use of Hamadan for air strikes on militants “at this stage completed.
Russian Tu-22M3 and su-34 appeared on the 3rd tactical air force base Iran under the Hamadan no later than August 15, 2016. 16 Aug aircraft launched the first strikes on militants in Syria on the rise, as stressed in the Russian defense Ministry, with a full combat load.
The Iranian defense Minister Hossein Dehgan on 20 August said that Russian bombers to use the base in the framework of mutual cooperation and the fight against terrorists.” Dehgan added that Tehran has no plans to provide for the use of Russia’s other base, but if necessary this issue will be considered.

The Interfax news agency on Monday quoted Russia's ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan as confirming that all warplanes have been withdrawn. He said, however, that he does "not see any reason" why the Russians can't use the base again.
