Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry: The real aim of US aggression is to weaken the Syrian Arab Army

An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that the real aim of the US condemned aggression on Syria is to weaken the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorist groups as it serves Israel’s interest and the terrorist organizations of Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS which are used by the United States to achieve its goals in Syria.


The source said in a statement on Friday that the United States committed at dawn on April 7, 2017 a blatant aggression on one of the Syrian Arab Army’s air bases in the central region under the pretext of using chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun which is the same pretext promoted by the terrorist organizations and their operators in Washington, Tel Aviv, Riyadh, Doha, Ankara, London, Paris and their media outlets.

The source added that what happened in Khan Shaikhoun was a deliberate act aimed at justifying the United States’ strikes against the Syrian Arab army, which has been confronting terrorism.

The source demanded the Security Council to assume its responsibilities and hold an emergency  meeting to condemn this aggression and discuss its dangerous consequences .
