President Putin visits Zapad-2017 military maneuvers on EU's borders

Russia's president on Monday attended his country's annual Zapad military maneuvers with Belarus, which this year were carried out in the Russian region of Leningrad, on the border with the European Union.


The Zapad-2017 war games have sparked concern among some EU and NATO officials due to their location near the frontiers of Estonia and Finland and an alleged lack of transparency surrounding their preparation.
