Πούτιν: Οι συμφωνίες μας με την Ουκρανία ισχύουν ανεξαρτήτως κυβέρνησης /Russia is ready to support Ukraine regardless of government (2video)

  • Russia-EU summit: Moscow won't interfere in Ukraine's internal affairs - Putin

Russia will not interfere in Ukraine's internal affairs and believes that too many mediators could only multiply the number of problems facing the country, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Concerning advice for Ukraine on what to do and how. I think the Ukrainian people can sort this out themselves. At least Russia will never interfere in this," Putin said at a press conference following an EU-Russia summit in Brussels on Tuesday.

"I can only imagine how our European partners would have reacted if amid a crisis, say, in Greece or in Cyprus, our foreign minister had appeared at an anti-European rally and started making some calls. We believe this is not very good in general, and, taking into consideration certain specifics of relations between Russia and Ukraine, this is simply unacceptable and impossible for us," Putin said.

  • By extending loan to Ukraine, lowering gas price, Russia backs Ukrainian people, not govt - Putin

Russia will not revise the loan it recently extended to Ukraine and the decision to lower the price at which Ukraine buys Russian gas, no matter who comes to power in Kyiv, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"We presume that both the loan we have mentioned and the gradual lowering of the prices for energy, primarily gas, were dictated by the need and the desire to support the Ukrainian people rather than some specific government," Putin said at a press conference following an EU-Russia summit in Brussels on Tuesday.

  • Russia is ready to support Ukraine regardless of government - Putin

Russia will not initiate a revision of its agreements with Ukraine concerning loans and the price for energy resources even if the opposition comes to power in this country, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Our decision to provide financial assistance to Ukraine is related to possible consequences that could have taken place in case we had decided otherwise", Putin said.

"In reply to the question as to whether we will revise our agreements on the loans and on energy if the opposition comes to power, I'll tell you directly that we won't," Putin said at a press conference following an EU-Russia summit in Brussels on Tuesday when asked whether Russia would demand a revision of the gas contract and loan agreements with Ukraine if an opposition government comes to power in this country.

  4. Vladimir Putin tells Brussels to stay out of Ukraine's political crisis...

Russian president dismisses EU decision to send envoy to Kiev: 'The more intermediaries there are, the more problems there are'

President Vladmir Putin warned Europe to keep its hands off Ukraine on Tuesday, as Brussels sent its top foreign policy envoy to Kiev to try to mediate in the 10-week stand-off between President Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition on the streets.

Russia's intervention in Brussels followed Yanukovych's biggest concession to the opposition, the sacking of his hardline prime minister and government and a promise to repeal draconian laws criminalising protest and freedom of speech.

Putin met EU leaders for the first time since November's clash between the Kremlin and Europe over the future of Ukraine triggered the crisis in Kiev. Catherine Ashton, the EU foreign policy chief, took part in the meetings with Putin in Brussels then travelled to Kiev to try to mediate between the opposing sides.

"The more intermediaries there are, the more problems there are," Putin said. "I am not sure Ukraine needs intermediaries." He pointedly noted that European leaders would complain if Russia sent envoys to mediate in the Greek crisis of the past four years..............http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/28/vladimir-putin-ukraine-crisis-eu

As the Conservative caucus stood behind him, Alexander said that the move is “effective immediately,” but did not specify which Ukrainian officials would be subject to the new measure.

“Recent actions by members of Ukraine's ruling elite in the face of popular and growing protests have been utterly deplorable, and compel us to take targeted and meaningful action,” Alexander said, adding that the federal government will continue to monitor the situation in Ukraine and consider taking further action if necessary.......Read more: http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/canada-to-restrict-entry-of-some-ukrainian-government-officials-1.1659840#ixzz2rjLawpAp

  6. Russia to Wait for New Ukrainian Govt Before Releasing More Aid....

KIEV, January 29 (RIA Novosti) – Russia warned Ukraine on Wednesday that it will halt the implementation of a financial aid package until the crisis-hit former Soviet nation has formed a new government.

Financial and energy agreements with Ukraine will only be honored when “we understand what sort of government there will be, who will be working in it and what rules they will stick to,” Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told the Cabinet on Wednesday, Prime business news agency reported.

“That’s sensible, let’s wait for the new Ukrainian government to be formed,” responded President Vladimir Putin, who was also present at the meeting, Prime reported.

Russia agreed to supply Ukraine with $15 billion worth of loans and slash the price for gas in a December deal that was widely seen as a political reward for Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych after his decision to back off from integration plans with Europe and cement closer ties with Russia..................http://en.ria.ru/russia/20140129/187025942/Russia-to-Wait-for-New-Ukrainian-Govt-Before-Releasing-More-Aid.html

  8. Russia decides to pause financial support to Ukraine due to political instability....

Moskovskiy Komsomolets reports that Russia has paused the promised financial support to Ukraine after its Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov stepped down from his post; Moscow wishes to wait with buying bonds issued by Kiev only after the new Cabinet is formed. The daily notes that the decision has been made members of Russia's extended government, who gathered on Wednesday in the presidential administration in Novo Ogariovo. President Vladimir Putin, who only a day ago insisted that Russia would continue its support to the neighboring country, agreed that the decision to wait it out was a sound one. The daily reminds that the first batch of Ukraine's bonds was bought in December with a total volume of $3 billion – Putin noted that this is significant amount. Moreover, Kiev has yet to pay for the debt it ows for Russian gas. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev reminded that Nikolai Azarov agreed to a clear scenario according to which Kiev would adopt a repayment plan for the $2.7 billion gas debt. Quote “They've paid almost nothing last year, asked for grace period several times and refused to pay for current shipments even though their price was lowered.” end quote. Medevedev suggested that the ongoing insolvency of the country changed the situation and should be considered when building relations with the pending new government of Ukraine..............http://voiceofrussia.com/radio_broadcast/25950828/261163659/
