« Il est possible de voir pendant environ un an et demi comment vivre sans lui », a-t-il souligné. Nombreux sont ceux qui estiment que le G8 a tenu son rôle, vu que beaucoup de questions sont examinées aujourd'hui dans le cadre du G20, a poursuivi Sergueï Lavrov.
« En fait, il existe d'autres formats pour évoquer les problèmes. Ce sont le Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies, le quartette des médiateurs internationaux sur le Proche-Orient (Russie, Etats-Unis, Union européenne et Nations unies) et le groupe des six pays traitant le dossier nucléaire iranien (Russie, Chine, Etats-Unis, Royaume-Uni, France et Allemagne) », a-t-il précisé.

ReplyDeleteRussland klammert sich nach Worten von Außenminister Sergej Lawrow nicht an G8, falls der Westen dieses Format nicht braucht.
„Die wichtigsten Probleme von heute können auch im Rahmen des G20-Länderclubs erörtert werden“, erklärte Lawrow am Montag auf einer Pressekonferenz in Den Haag. „Die G8 ist ein informeller Club, es gibt keine Mitgliedsbücher, und niemand kann jemand aus diesem Club ausschließen. Nach der Gründung der G20 werden alle ökonomischen und finanziellen Probleme gerade im G20-Format diskutiert. Die G8 hatte einen Sinn, weil sie vor allem ein Forum der führenden westlichen Länder und Russlands war.“
Lawrow zufolge gibt es für die Erörterung der wichtigsten Fragen auch andere Formate wie den UN-Sicherheitsrat, das Nahost-Quartett, die Iran-Sechsergruppe u.a. „Wenn die westlichen Partner meinen, dass das G8-Format überholt ist, dann kann es dabei auch bleiben“, sagte der russische Außenamtschef.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday he saw no "great tragedy" if Moscow was expelled from the Group of Eight (G8) club of leading nations for its annexation of Ukraine's Crimea peninsula.......

At the very least, we are not trying to hold on to this format, and we see no great tragedy if it (the G8) does not meet," Lavrov told reporters after holding separate talks with both US Secretary of State John Kerry and Ukraine's interim Foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsya.
No one can expel Russia from the G8 as it is an informal club, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"As to the G8, as you know the G8 is an informal club, no one issues membership cards and by default no one can expel anyone from there," Lavrov told a news conference in The Hague on Monday.
"If the G8 has played its role - and many think so - because with the creation of the G20 all economic and financial issues are discussed there and the G8 in general has existed because it is a forum for debates between the leading Western nations and Russia," he said.
"It discussed the Iranian nuclear issue, the Korean peninsula nuclear issue, the Syrian situation, the Balkans and may other things. But in general there are other formats to discuss these things: the UN Security Council, there is the Quartet for the Middle East settlement, there is the Sextet for the Iranian nuclear issue and so on," Lavrov said.
