Sevastopol is celebrating the 69th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War with a parade by the Black Sea Fleet and Air Force. It's the first military parade since Crimea became part of the Russian Federation.
The Crimean Hero City of Sevastopol celebrated Victory Day with a breath-taking air show and a huge naval parade reviewed by President Putin. 70 years from this day, the iconic Russian naval base was liberated from Nazi troops after bloody battles.
Some 150,000 people flocked to central Sevastopol on Friday to view the massive Victory Day Parade, which this year featured land, sea and air forces of Russia coming together for a big show.

Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula in March after a pro-European government took power in Kiev following the ousting of pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovich.

ReplyDeleteAlors que la Russie commémore vendredi 9 mai la victoire de 1945 sur l'Allemagne nazie avec une démonstration de force militaire sur la place Rouge ce matin à Moscou, Vladimir Poutine est arrivé dans l'après-midi en Crimée pour participer à Sébastopol, base historique de la Flotte russe de la mer Noire, à des célébrations.
S'exprimant devant des milliers d'habitants de la ville, il a déclaré que le retour de la Crimée à la Russie rétablissait la "vérité historique", dans la péninsule ukrainienne rattachée en mars à la Russie. "L'année 2014 va rester dans les annales comme l'année qui a vu les peuples qui vivent ici décider avec fermeté d'être avec la Russie, confirmant leur fidélité à la vérité historique et à la mémoire de nos ancêtres", a déclaré M. Poutine au cours des célébrations de la victoire de 1945 sur les nazis.
