KIEV, August 11, 3:16 /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko, in a telephone conversation, informed US Secretary of State John Kerry of "the invitation of representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to coordinate all matters aimed at arranging for the delivery of humanitarian aid" to the residents of Lugansk, the presidential press service of Ukraine reported on Sunday.

Kerry, according to the press service, welcomed the Ukrainian president's initiative about organization by Ukraine of an international humanitarian mission for the residents of Luhansk.

Earlier on Sunday, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia expects an earliest solution to the question of humanitarian aid to Ukraine's east, emphasizing that the problem is monitored by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Minister said Russia gets to term with Ukraine, the ICRC, and the UN about a urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukraine's east. "At present, we prioritize reaching agreement with both the Ukrainian side, the ICRC, and international humanitarian agencies of the UN system about the need for an urgent dispatch of humanitarian supplies to Luhansk and Donetsk Regions," the Minister said.

It was noted in the statement that “Canada will continue to work closely with its allies and partners and will take further action if Russia continues down this reckless and irresponsible path.”

The statement also said that, should Russia be willing to provide humanitarian aid, “it can support the work of legitimate humanitarian organizations, such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Committee of the Red Cross.”...............http://en.ria.ru/world/20140811/191895508/Canada-Concerned-about-Russian-Humanitarian-Aid-to-Ukraine-.html
