***President commenting on arrangements in Minsk: "I've got no illusions, but I've got hope"

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hopes that all the parties who signed the peace protocol in Minsk will manage to ensure the ceasefire regime.
"I believe that the efforts of diplomats will be successful," he said at the meeting with militaries of the First operative brigade of the National Guard, the 9th and the 23rd battalions of territorial defense, militaries of the State Border Service.
At the same time, the Head of State notes that servicemen must be ready to defend the country. "It shouldn't take off our guard. We know our enemy well. We know the price of his words. I've got no illusions about our opponent, but I've got hope," he said.
According to the President, the OSCE mission on the control over the ceasefire regime will be increased by 500 observers soon. He also stated that in general, the ceasefire regime was complied with, except incidents in Donetsk and Mariupol.
The Head of State noted that the Ukrainian army would change its defense in both tactical and strategic sense. He is confident that the enhancement of cooperation with NATO would facilitate that. "NATO managed to reach an agreement with several countries on direct supply of state-of-the-art weapons that will help us defend ourselves and win. Although we count solely on ourselves, we vitally need financial and technical military assistance. And we will get it," Petro Poroshenko stated.

Nella giornata di ieri il consigliere del presidente dell'Ucraina Yury Lutsenko aveva dichiarato che al vertice NATO in Galles avevano accettato di fornire armi avanzate all'Ucraina gli Stati Uniti, la Francia, la Polonia, la Norvegia e l'Italia. Tutti questi Paesi hanno successivamente smentito queste dichiarazioni.

Une réunion extraordinaire des ambassadeurs de l'UE sur les sanctions à l’encontrela Fédération de Russie aura lieu lundi soir.
Les sanctions devaient être adoptées à 17h00 heure de Moscou au cas où le gouvernement d'un des pays de l'Union européenne ne s'oppose pas à cet accord.

La Maison Blanche dément l'information sur les fournitures d'armes à l'UKraine...
ReplyDeleteLes déclarations des autorités ukrainiennes d'après lesquelles les armes américaines seront livrées à l'Ukraine ne correspondent pas à la réalité, a déclaré la porte-parole du Conseil de sécurité nationale américain Caitlin Hayden.
Elle a noté cependant que les Etats-Unis examinaient des possibilités supplémentaires d'aide militaire à l'Ukraine.
Dimanche le conseiller du président ukrainien Iouri Loutsenko a déclaré qu'un accord était intervenu lors du sommet de l'OTAN au pays de Galles sur les livraisons d'armes modernes à l'Ukraine depuis les Etats-Unis, la France, la Pologne, la Norvège et l'Italie.
