US pleased with British vote to join fight against Islamic State, White House says

The United States is "pleased" that Britain's parliament voted to approve air strikes against Islamic State insurgents in Iraq, a White House spokesman on Friday.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the British vote showed "strong support" for a growing coalition of European allies that have joined the US-led military action. Britain's parliament voted 524-43 on Friday to join the military campaign.
