Youngest attacker on Paris-based magazine surrenders to police (France Presse)

The youngest of the three gunmen suspected of attacking the office of the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine on January 7 has surrendered to police, France Presse reported referring to its own sources.
He could be Hamid Murad born 1996.


No information has been received on the other two attackers so far.
Three unknown gunmen attacked the office of the Paris-based Charlie Hebdo satirical weekly paper that had outraged Muslims by printing caricatures of Prophet Muhammad on Wednesday morning. According to the latest reports, 12 people were killed. They include ten journalists and two policemen who guarded the editorial office’s building.

The January 7th attack has become the most high-profile terrorist act in France over the past 50 years. A three-day national mourning has been announced in the country.

French President Francois Hollande is to hold an emergency meeting with the heads of the key security and police agencies at the Elysee Palace on Thursday.

    Vigils held across Europe amid manhunt for men who killed 12 people in attack on satirical paper Charlie Hebdo.

    Police in France have identified and released the photographs of two brothers suspected to be involved in the attack on the offices of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, that left 12 people, including four cartoonists and two police officers, dead.

    The two brothers have been identified as 32-year-old Said Kouachi and 34-year-old Cherif Kouachi. The brothers along with another person, believed to be a teenage homeless man, carried out Wednesday's attack in the heart of Paris before escaping in a car.

    Saïd et Chérif Kouachi, âgés respectivement de 34 et 32 ans, sont toujours recherchés jeudi par la police au lendemain de la tuerie à Charlie Hebdo, ont annoncé les médias français jeudi.

    Mourad Hamyd, 18 ans, soupçonné d'avoir aidé les deux tireurs, s'est rendu à la police vers 23 heures après avoir vu que son nom circulait sur les réseaux sociaux. Il a été interpellé et placé en garde à vue, de même que six autres personnes de l'entourage des deux frères.

    Selon nos informations, Saïd et Chérif Kouachi sont connus des services de police - l'un comme l'autre étaient fichés à la Direction générale de la sécurité intérieure ainsi qu'à la Direction du renseignement de la préfecture de police de Paris...............http://fr.ria.ru/world/20150108/203378066.html
