  1. The foreign ministers of South Korea, China and Japan will meet Saturday in Seoul for the first time in nearly three years in a bid to restore cooperation between the three economic powers, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said...

South Korea’s and China’s ties with Japan have chilled over what they view as Tokyo’s reluctance to properly atone for its wartime past. Both South Korea and China also have territorial disputes with Japan.

But ties between China and Japan have shown signs of warming over recent months and the South Korean Foreign Ministry said senior officials from the three countries have met recently.

The foreign ministers’ meeting is aimed at putting trilateral cooperation back on track.

“The meeting is the first in about three years since April 2012 and is expected to lay the foundation for restoring a mechanism for three-country cooperation,” the South Korean ministry said in a statement Tuesday.

Three-way summits of the countries’ leaders, which had been held annually starting in 2008, have also been on hold since May 2012.

A meeting of foreign ministers would signal progress even as South Korea and China press Japanese leaders to take steps to show they fully recognize the country’s transgressions during World War II....................http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2015/03/17/national/politics-diplomacy/south-korea-japan-and-china-to-meet-in-bid-to-restore-cooperation/#.VQfWA44YE9Q

  2. S Korea, China, Japan Top Diplomats to Resume Talks March 21..

Last week, senior diplomats from the three countries gathered in South Korea’s capital as a preliminary and preparatory meeting ahead of the high-level foreign minister talks.
China and South Korea’s relations with Japan have been tense for many years, due to a number of long-standing historical and territorial disputes.

Among the many grievances shared by the countries, Seoul has repeatedly blamed Tokyo for refusing to acknowledge wartime crimes, including the sexual assault of Korean women during World War II. China and Japan have also long been at odds over the possession of a set of uninhabited islands in the East China Sea, called Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China.........................http://sputniknews.com/politics/20150317/1019590426.html#ixzz3Ud2lnKNp
