MSF Shared Coordinates of Bombed Hospital in Yemen With Saudi Coalition

Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) said Wednesday that GPS coordinates for its hospital in the Yemeni district of Haydan were provided to the Saudi-led military coalition on the day it was bombed.

On Monday, several airstrikes targeted the MSF Haydan hospital, with staff and patients inside the building. No casualties were reported.

According to an earlier statement by MSF, the Saudi-led coalition conducting airstrikes in the region against Houthi positions were provided with coordinates of all hospitals two weeks prior to the attack.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned on Tuesday the bombing and called for an unbiased probe into the attack.

Yemen has been engulfed in a military conflict between the government and the Houthi opposition faction for over a year.

Since late March, the Saudi-led coalition has been carrying out airstrikes against Houthis at the request of Yemeni President-in-exile Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
