A FYROM [*] police source said three officers were also injured by stones thrown by the protesting migrants.
More than 11,200 people have been stranded at the flashpoint Idomeni border crossing after Balkan states closed off the migrant route in mid-February.
A Greek police source said hundreds of migrants gathered to demand the opening of the frontier and tried to force the fence, prompting FYROM [*] police to fire tear gas.
FYROM [*] police confirmed the incident but said the tear gas had not come from their side...

ReplyDeleteTear gas was used near the Idomeni crossing, where more than 11,000 refugees and other migrants are camped out on the Greek side of the border.
Aid organisation Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) said it had treated around 300 injured people.
