Obama stated the importance of investments in military development of Europe in order to fight Russia

U.S. President Barack Obama said that we need to invest in military development in Europe to confront Russia, reports RIA Novosti.

“We invest in our military capabilities necessary to deter aggression and protect our security and our allies,” said Obama in a White house meeting with defense Secretary Ashton Carter.

“And this includes our expansion plans in Europe to support our NATO allies in light of aggressive actions by Russia”, — said the American leader.

Representatives of authorities of foreign countries regularly make statements about the “Russian threat”. March 18, Carter mentioned Russia among the main threats to U.S. security.

March 30 during the visit to Georgia, the British foreign Minister Philip Hammond said that Russia poses a threat to the world.

In November 2015 the President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev declared that Russia intends to start a hybrid war in the Balkans to destabilize the situation throughout Europe.

A number of countries accused Russia of waging war in Eastern Ukraine. In Moscow deny these allegations, pointing to the lack of evidence.
