The Turkish government: Cameron is a disgrace to the EU

The Turkish government belatedly commented on the statement by the Prime Minister of great Britain David Cameron, who said that Turkey can join the European Union only in a thousand years.

Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said that the words of the British leader are a disgrace to Europe.

Kurtulmus said that in the matter of implementation of its obligations under the agreement on cancellation of visa regime «Turkey depends on Europe», and also questioned the future of the European Union in 30 years.

Cameron recently commented on the possibility of Turkey’s accession to the EU. «Nothing indicates that Turkey may join the EU in the near future. They applied in 1987. The pace, they will be able to enter the EU not earlier than the year 3000,» said Cameron.
