Military sources say at least two Daesh (ISIS) "militants" have been killed by U.S.-led coalition drones launched from Turkey.
Two MQ-1 Predators took off from southern Turkey's Incirlik base in Adana on Saturday and hit a building inside Syria being used to produce explosives and car bombs, according to a Turkish security source speaking on Sunday on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The building was located in Dabiq, a village in northern Syria, about 40 kilometers northeast of Aleppo and around 10 kilometers (6 miles) south of Syria’s border with Turkey. It is administratively part of the Akhtarin nahiyah (sub district) of the A’zaz District of Aleppo Governorate.
It is believed that a number of other Daesh "militants" have been trapped inside the building which collapsed after being hit.
In the last 18 months, the U.S.-led coalition has conducted more than 11,000 airstrikes and aircraft have flown nearly 89,000 sorties in support of operations in Iraq and Syria.
The operations have cost the U.S. approximately $12 million to date and U.S.-led airstrikes have reportedly destroyed more nearly 23,000 Daesh targets.
