The Hungarian government announced its intention to build a new fence on Serbian border, to keep out of illegal immigrants, told the news Agency Reuters.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that a second fence will be built next to the existing fence. According to him, this measure is necessary in case of change in policy of Turkey against illegal immigrants. Orban stressed that in this situation in Hungary will for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants.
The previous barbed wire fence on the Hungarian-Serbian and Hungarian-Croatian borders has significantly reduced the number of illegal migrants entering Hungary.
Viktor Orban added that he intends to increase the number of Hungarian police for three thousand people and place reinforcements on the southern border.
October 2, Hungary will hold a referendum on the adoption of new European Union decisions on the relocation of quotas for migrants between EU member States.
