The antiaircraft missile regiment based in Crimea has received an S-400 Triumf air defense missile system that will be used in the upcoming Caucasus-2016 strategic maneuvers, the press office the Southern Military District reported on Friday.
"The antiaircraft missile regiment of the 4th Air Force and Air Defense Army of the Southern Military District based in the Republic of Crimea has received a modern S-400 Triumf air defense missile system for operation," the press office said.
"After the preparations are over and the rearmed regiment is redeployed, it will take part in the Caucaus-2016 strategic command and staff exercises," the district’s press office said.
It was reported in mid-July that a new regiment set of the S-400 air defense missile system will be delivered to Crimea in August......More: http://tass.ru/en/defense/894009

Moscow also announced exercises in Crimea next week to simulate an attack by weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
Russia, which annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, said this week it had foiled a Ukrainian sabotage mission.
It accused the Ukrainian government in Kiev of trying to send saboteurs into Crimea and reported the deaths of a soldier and a secret police officer in an operation to foil the alleged plot.
