Syrian Army agrees to halt military operations and adhere to nationwide ceasefire

The Syrian Arab Army's General Command announced that their forces will halt their military operations against rebel forces across the country and adhere the proposed nationwide ceasefire.


Should the rebel factions agree to this deal proposed by Turkey and Russia, the nationwide ceasefire will take effect as of midnight on December 30th.

The ceasefire deal excludes terrorist groups like the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), Jund Al-Aqsa (Al-Qaeda franchise), and Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front).
