The Chinese government on Monday protested the Taiwanese president's meeting with elected US officials during a stopover in Houston, Texas, over the weekend.
President Tsai Ing-wen met with Republican Sen. Ted Cruz and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott before flying to Honduras, the first stop on an official tour that also includes visits to Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador.
