North Korea says it is ready for nuclear war

A vice chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea said on Saturday during a large military parade that the North Korean people are "ready for war" against the United States.

During the parade marking the 105th birth anniversary of Kim Il-sung, former president and founder of the country, the regime presented a hitherto unseen projectile mounted on trucks driving through the center of the capital, prompting speculation that it might be a new intercontinental ballistic missile powered by solid fuel.

"If the US does any reckless provocation, we will immediately apply a destructive strike with our revolutionary power. We're prepared to respond to an all-out war with an all-out war and we are ready to hit back with nuclear attacks of our own style against any nuclear attacks", said vice Chairman Choe Ryong-hae in a speech during the military parade held to mark the 105th birth anniversary of the country's former president and founder, Kim Il-Sung.

Choe also accused the US of deploying nuclear weapons in the south of the Korean peninsula, accusing Washington of threatening peace and security in the region as well as the rest of the world.
