Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Sunday won the presidential election in the first round with an estimated 57.3 percent of the votes, according to election projections with 56.5 percent of the ballots counted.
The Election Commission estimated that Vucic will garner a clear majority of the ballots, with the second vote-getter - opposition candidate Sasa Jankovic, the country's former ombudsman - far behind with 14.9 percent, although that was more than earlier surveys had projected he would receive, and surprise candidate, comedian Luka "Beli" Maksomovic with 9 percent.
