The commander of the United States Army's Central Command in Africa (AFRICOM) arrived in Tripoli on Tuesday, the first visit to Libya by a senior American official since the assassination of US ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, in 2012.
Gen. Thomas Waldhauser was received by the head of the United Nations-supported Libyan unity government, Fayez al-Sarraj and several members of his cabinet, according to local media.
