North Korea demands South suspend joint military drills

North Korea accused the South of engaging in "military hostilities" and demanded Seoul put an immediate end to what it described as a threat at its border.

The statement critical of Seoul's policies comes at a time when millions of South Koreans are headed to the polls to elect a new president.

Pyongyang's propaganda outlet Uriminzokkiri issued the message on Thursday, local time, charging South Korea's caretaker government with "following the United States, while denying a unitary [Korean] people."
