N Korean leader receives plans for Guam missile strike

Guam
North Korea's official news agency has reported that the country's leader Kim Jong Un has received a report from his army on its plans to strike the area around the US Pacific territory of Guam.

The island is home to US air and naval bases.

The report says Kim Jong Un "examined the plan for a long time" and "discussed it" with commanding officers during his inspection of the command of the Strategic Force in charge of the North's missile units.

It adds that Kim Jong Un will watch the actions of the United States for a while longer before making a decision and that he ordered the army to be 'fire-ready' should he make a decision for action.
