North Korea said on Saturday that the launch of its latest ballistic missile was aimed at "calming the belligerence of the United States" and vowed to continue the country's nuclear weapons program with the aim to reach a military forces "equilibrium."
Friday morning's test involved the launch of a Hwasong-12 mid to long range ballistic missile, the North Korean state news agency KCNA confirmed.
"Our final goal is to establish the equilibrium of real force with the US and make the US rulers dare not talk about military option," North Korean leader Kim jong-un said, according to KCNA.
