South Korea announced Monday the imposition of new unilateral sanctions against North Korea in response to the regime's nuclear and missile development program, ahead of an official visit by the president of the United States to Seoul.
The measure bans transactions with 18 North Koreans from five state-owned banking entities which have overseas operations and are allegedly linked to the regime's weapons programs, according to Seoul government's official gazette, released on Monday.
