Iran's Response to US Violation of N. Deal to Surprise World

Iran's Response to US Violation of N. Deal to Surprise World
An Iranian parliament presiding board member blasted US President Donald Trump's move to set up conditions for Washington's commitment to the 2015 nuclear deal, including extension of sunset clauses, and warned that Tehran's response to the violation of the deal would astonish the international community.

"The nuclear deal is an international agreement that not only Trump but also none of the Group 5+1 members (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) can violate it unilaterally," Rapporteur of the parliament's Presiding Board Behrouz Nemati said on Saturday.

He referred to Trump's conditions that there should be no sunset clauses or endgame date for the nuclear deal, and said the expiration date is one of the main paragraphs of the nuclear deal which is impossible for Washington to violate.

"If the US is really serious about adopting such a measure (violating the deal), we will show a reaction to it that will surprise not only the US but also the world," Nemati warned.

  1. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday criticized the most recent sanctions imposed by the United States, saying they were illegal and hostile and warning that they would receive a serious reaction from the Islamic republic.

According to a statement issued by the ministry, the sanctions crossed all limits of behavior acceptable in the international community and violated principles of international law.
