UK envoy says briefing arranged by Russia, Syria at OPCW is ‘stunt’

OPCW
Britain’s ambassador to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) described a briefing arranged by Russia and Syria at the organization’s premises on Thursday as a stunt, Reuters reports.
Several Syrians have been brought from Douma, where the OPCW is investigating possible use of chemical weapons in an attack on April 7. Ambassador Peter Wilson said any witnesses should be interviewed by OPCW investigators instead.

The envoy said in a statement that Britain and its allies would not attend, adding that “the OPCW is not a theater.” Damascus says no chemical attack took place in Douma.

  1. Mr Shulgin says the US, UK and their allies "did not dare to come to the briefing, probably nothing stings worse than the truth".

He added: "They're afraid to look the truth in the face, they're afraid to look in the eyes of small Hassan."

  2. The projection at the back of the briefing room reads: "Presentation by the representative of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation with direct participants of the fake video produced by 'White Helmets' on 7th April 2018, in the Hospital of Douma."
