Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani underlined the country's determination to continue its military advisory role in Syria, adding that the Iranian advisors are not present in the Southern parts of the Arab country.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran considers security of Syria as its own security and maintenance of stability in Syria is resumed as an achievement for the Islamic Republic of Iran. We will continue our advisory assistance as long as the country's (Syria's) government demands," Shamkhani said on Saturday.
"We have earlier announced that the Iranian advisors are not present in the Southern parts of Syria at all and they played no role in operations there," he added.
Shamkhani, meantime, stressed that Iran strongly supports Russia's efforts to evacuate the terrorists from the Syria-Jordan borders and the Syrian army's control over the region.
