Syria’s state news agency SANA reported early on Wednesday that the air defense units of the Syrian army had successfully intercepted the aggression from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights over Damascus' airspace.
There were no official reports of damage or casualties, however, a Syrian military source said that the assault had led to the martyrdom of three soldiers and the injury of another.
Israeli military confirmed in a rare statement that it had launched airstrikes on Syrian targets inside the Arab country.
Israel frequently targets military positions inside Syria, especially those of the resistance movement Hezbollah which has played a key role in helping the Syrian army in its fight against foreign-backed terrorists.

Se precisa que el ataque fue lanzado en respuesta a la instalación por Siria e Irán de varios "explosivos improvisados cerca de la linea Alpha con el fin de atacar a las tropas israelíes".

DeleteLieutenant-Colonel Jonathan Conricus, an Israeli military spokesman, said eight targets were hit, belonging to the Syrian army or the Quds Force, in areas stretching from the Syrian-controlled side of the Golan Heights to the Damascus periphery.
DeleteThey included an Iranian headquarters at Damascus international airport, a “secret military site” that hosted Iranian military delegations, and the 7th Division of the Syrian armed forces, he said. Syrian surface-to-air defences were also hit after firing at Israeli planes and missiles, Conricus said.
A former Syrian military commander told Reuters the attacks also targeted bases of the Iranian-backed Lebanese Shi’ite group Hezbollah in Syria. Conricus made no mention of Hezbollah.
