Trump fires US cybersecurity chief - Global Times

US President Donald Trump tweeted on Tuesday that Chris Krebs has been terminated as director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

"The recent statement by Chris Krebs on the security of the 2020 Election was highly inaccurate ... Therefore, effective immediately, Chris Krebs has been terminated as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency," the president announced on Twitter. Enditem

  1. US President Donald Trump on Tuesday fired top cybersecurity official Chris Krebs in a message on Twitter, accusing him without evidence of making a "highly inaccurate" statement affirming the Nov. 3 election was secure and rejecting claims of fraud.

    Trump has made debunked allegations that the election was "rigged" and has refused to concede defeat to US President-elect Joe Biden. His campaign has filed a flurry of lawsuits in battleground states, although election officials in both parties have said they see no evidence of serious irregularities.
