Death toll of bus accident in Indonesia's West Java rises to 29 - China.org.cn

The death toll from a bus accident in which the bus fell into a ravine in Sumedang district, West Java province, has risen to 29, according to a police officer on Thursday.

"The latest two victims died while being treated at the Sumedang district hospital," the Sumedang district police spokesman Adjunct Commissioner Dedi Juhana said.

The two dead victims are the bus driver and his assistant, while 37 others who were injured are still under medical treatment.

Juhana explained that the bus carrying 66 people of a junior high school, who were on a study tour, was on its way back to Subang district, West Java.

On a street to the way home, Juhana added, the driver could not control the vehicle which then plunged into a ravine.
