The North Korean propaganda outlet Tongil Voice has denounced South Korea's plans to purchase new weapons as an acceleration of what it says are plans to invade the North.
The article, published Sunday, refers to Seoul's plan to purchase another 36 advanced attack helicopters in addition to the 36 Apache helicopters it's deployed already.
It said those purchases are a clear sign that South Korea is seeking a military confrontation, otherwise it would not be spending so much money on weapons at a time of economic crisis.
The plan was announced late last month, and is estimated to cost around 2-point-8 billion dollars.
