Biden administration denies Iranian state media report of prisoner-swap agreement with Tehran that would free four Americans — RT

 White House chief of staff Ron Klain has denied a report by Iran’s state-owned television broadcaster of a prisoner-swap agreement, saying work remains ongoing to free four Americans who had been accused by Tehran of spying.



“Unfortunately, that report is untrue,” Klain said in an interview Sunday on CBS News’ ‘Face the Nation’ program. “There is no agreement to release these four Americans. We're working very hard to get them released. We've raised this with Iran . . . but so far, there's no agreement to bring these four Americans home.”...

  1. Iran's envoy to the United Nations said on Sunday that an Iranian state television report that a deal had been reached between Tehran and Washington to release American prisoners could not be confirmed, Iran's Young Journalists Club news website reported.

    "The news of the agreement for the release of American prisoners (in Iran) is not confirmed," Majid Takht Ravanchi was quoted as saying by the website, which is affiliated to state TV.
