"The government has no intention of failing to fulfill the commitments it has made," Navracsics said, following the EC's earlier decision on Sunday.
Earlier Sunday, the EC proposed suspending 7.5 billion euros in financing for Hungary, until the implementation of anti-corruption reforms from the government of Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The Hungarian government is expected to inform the committee by November 19 about the implementation of the promised changes.
