A Ryanair flight from Poland has landed safely in Athens after sending a bomb threat signal, the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA) reported on Sunday.

According to the agency, a Ryanair Boeing 738 landed at the Athens international airport at 17:40 local time (18:40 Moscow time). The plane was escorted by two Greek F-16 fighter jets, which returned to their home base near the city of Volos after the Boeing landed.

The Boeing was making a regular flight from Poland’s Katowice to Athens.

Passengers and crewmembers were evacuated from the plane, which will be checked by bomb specialists.
