Death toll of earthquake in Turkey grows to 2,921

The death toll of the major earthquake in Turkey has increased to 2,921, according to the Disaster and Management Authority head Yunus Sezer.



"A total of 2,921 people have died. A total of 15,834 of our citizens were injured," he said.

 The new count brings the confirmed death toll in Turkey and neighboring Syria to 4,365, after a quake considered to be the strongest to hit the region in nearly a century.
