Media sources have reported that the international coalition led by the United States launched air strikes in the northeast of Deir ez-Zur, reportedly after the coalition base in the "Koniko" field, eastern Syria, was targeted with three missiles.
The areas of "Hatla" and "Khasham" were among those hit by the bombing.
The Central Command of the US forces announced that the coalition forces at Koniko base were attacked with a single missile, but no human losses or material damage occurred.
Meanwhile, Russian agency "Sputnik" reported that the American base in the "Koniko" gas field was subjected to a missile attack on Monday evening, and that a series of explosions rocked the region.
This incident took place at the same time as the coalition forces stationed at Koniko base announced the shooting down of a drone in the village of Al-Tabiyah in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zur.
The Koniko gas field is one of the largest military bases in Deir ez-Zur, eastern Syria.
The US military has for long stationed its forces and equipment in northeastern Syria, with the Pentagon claiming that the deployment is aimed at preventing the oilfields in the area from falling into the hands of the Daesh terrorists.
Damascus, however, maintains the deployment is meant to plunder the country’s natural resources. Former US president Donald Trump admitted on several occasions that American forces were in the Arab country for its oil wealth.

US occupation forces have plundered new large quantities of Syrian oil from Syria al-Jazeera fields and transported them to their bases in Iraqi territory.
“A convoy belongs to US occupation consisting of 77 vehicles, including 32 tanks filled with stolen oil from the Syrian fields, in addition to six military armored vehicles headed through the illegitimate al-Walid crossing towards the US occupation bases in Iraqi territory.” local sources from al-Yarubiyah countryside told SANA reporter.
On March 25, the US occupation stole a convoy of 80 tanks loaded by Syrian oil from al-Jazeera fields and transported it to its bases in Iraq.
