Russian strategic bombers flew over Chukchi Sea between Siberia and Alaska 

Two Russian strategic bombers have conducted routine flights over the Chukchi Sea between Siberia and Alaska, the TASS news agency said on Friday.



“In the course of the flight, the crews of the long-range aircraft carried out aerial refueling,” TASS quoted the defense ministry as saying.

 Two Russian Tu-95MS strategic missile carrier planes carried out a planned 13-hour sortie over neutral waters of the Chukchi Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry announced Friday.

"Two long-range aviation Tu-95MS strategic missile carrier planes carried out a planned sortie over neutral waters of the Chukchi Sea. The sortie lasted for slightly over 13 hours. During the sortie, the crews performed an aerial refueling," the Ministry said.

The planes were escorted by MiG-31, Su-30SM and Su-35S planes of the Eastern Military District air and air defense forces.

    Продолжительность полета российских ракетоносцев превысила 13 часов. Экипажи самолетов дальней авиации осуществили дозаправку в воздухе.

    Ракетоносцы были сопровождены истребителями МиГ-31, Су-30СМ и Су-35С Восточного военного округа.

    В российском оборонном ведомстве добавили, что летчики дальней авиации регулярно патрулируют нейтральные воды Арктики, Северной Атлантики, Тихого океана, а также Черного и Балтийского морей.
