The United States recognized the lack of evidence of Russia's participation in the collapse of the Kakhovka HPP

The USA is closely monitoring the situation around the Kakhovka HPP, they cannot confirm the involvement of the Russian Federation in the incident, White House spokesman John Kirby said at a briefing on Tuesday.

"We have seen reports that Russia is responsible for the explosion on the dam..., we will do everything possible to evaluate these reports and work with the Ukrainians to collect data. Now we cannot say for sure what happened, but we will definitely provide more information," - said Kirby. According to him, the United States "closely monitors the consequences of the destruction".

"We can definitely say that the destruction for the Ukrainian people and the region will be significant", - said Kirby, adding that this "could have a devastating effect on the energy security of Ukraine".
The representative of the White House did not estimate the possible consequences of the incident at the hydroelectric power plant during the conflict in Ukraine. "I think, to be honest, that it's too early to draw conclusions about this," said Kirby, answering a question about what consequences the destruction of the HPP could have on Ukraine's counteroffensive.
