Al-Sisi won the Egyptian presidential election for the third time

The current Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will remain in power for another term - until 2030 based on the election results. 

Al-Sisi won the support of 89.6% of voters with a high turnout of almost 67%. The results of the presidential election campaign were announced today by the National Election Commission of Egypt.

The elections were declared valid based on the results of the first round. Opponents from the Republican People's Party, the Egyptian Social Democratic Party and the Wafd Party could not even overcome the 5 percent barrier.
