UN ‘outraged’ as death toll in Burkina Faso attack rises to 132 | Al Jazeera

Gunmen have killed at least 132 people in Burkina Faso’s volatile north, the government said, as the United Nations chief condemned “the heinous attack” and called on countries to step up the fight against “violent extremism”.

Burkina Faso: At least 17 people killed and another 8 wounded

An attack by gunmen on a Turkish restaurant that began late on Sunday left at least 17 people dead and eight wounded in the capital of Burkina Faso, a West African country that has seen a surge in violence by armed groups over the past few years.

Burkina Faso prise d'otage à Ouagadougou: au moins 22 morts, assaut en cours dans un autre hôtel

Un commando djihadiste a mené vendredi soir une attaque sanglante sur un restaurant et un hôtel de Ouagadougou fréquentés par des Occidentaux, faisant au moins une vingtaine de morts et prenant des otages. Un nouveau bilan fait état de 22 morts, selon une source sécuritaire.

Hôtel Splendid de Ouagadougou : Aqmi revendique l'attaque

L'attaque mené à l'Hôtel Splendid de Ouagadougou a fait au moins une vingtaine de morts. Cet attentat a été revendiqué par Al-Qaïda au Maghreb islamique. 

L'assaut est toujours en cours.

Security Council welcomes reinstatement of the transitional authorities in Burkina Faso

 UN, 25 September 2015 – Welcoming the recent reinstatement of President Michel Kafando and the transitional authorities of Burkina Faso in the wake of a coup d’état last week, the United Nations Security Council urged all parties in the country to refrain from violence and resume the transition process without delay.
