Grecia, intesa dei creditori sul pacchetto di riforme: ‘Sblocco aiuti dal 20 agosto’

Grecia ad un passo dall’accordo per il nuovo pacchetto di aiuti dalla nuova troika. Lo sostiene il Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, secondo cui l’intesa è contenuta in un memorandum di 27 pagine al vaglio del governo di Atene tra sabato e domenica, e in seguito sottoposto ai creditori internazionali e quindi ai Paesi dell’Unione europea. In caso di fumata bianca si procederà già dal 20 agosto al terzo pacchetto di aiuti.

EU Postpones Sanctions Against Russia, Hopes for De-escalation оf Ukrainian Crisis.

EU delayed the implementation of sanctions against Russia, hoping that long-term ceasefire in eastern Ukraine will be maintained, a EU diplomatic source told RIA Novosti.

“Of course, we know that much attention was paid to the fact that we decided to delay implementation of new sanctions. We want to give Russia a chance to show its willingness to be honest and to show that it aims for de-escalation of situation in Ukraine. We want the ceasefire to be real and long-term,” the source said.

Finland thinking EU should waiting in putting new anti-Russian sanctions in effect

Implementation of a new package of anti-Russian sanctions, which the EU endorsed on Monday, has been put off for several days owing to the position taken by Finland and some other European countries, says an article published by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on its website.  

The new sanctions were adopted by the EU members including Finland on Monday, but the actual timing for their implementation was left to be decided later, Finland's Prime Minister Alexander Stubb told Finnish media at a press briefing in Helsinki […],” the newspaper said.

Russia denies brief violation into Finnish western airspace

A Russian aircraft was suspected to have violated Finnish air space briefly on Saturday, just before 1600 GMT, said the Finnish Ministry of Defence.

Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb said on Sunday that he had received a sufficient report about the incident and that no drama had been involved.

The ministry described the aircraft as a Russian state aircraft which could mean a military plane or other plane in governmental use. Russia has denied that its aircraft violated Finnish air space on Saturday.

Russia cannot see NATO expansion towards its borders as positive, as under certain circumstances the possibility of military confrontation remains, the Russian PM has said at the Euro-Arctic Council’s forum.
When a reporter asked Dmitry Medvedev how the balance of forces in Europe will change if Sweden and Finland decide to enter NATO, the Russian Prime Minister answered that his country would have to react to such developments.
This is their own business; they are making decisions in accordance with the national sovereignty doctrine. But we have to consider the fact that for us the NATO bloc is not simply some estranged organisation, but a structure with military potential,” the head of the Russian government said adding that under certain unfavorable scenarios this potential could be used against Russia.

Η Φινλανδία είναι «100% προσηλωμένη» στο ευρώ , διευκρίνισε ο Φινλανδός υπουργός Ευρωπαϊκών Υποθέσεων και Εξωτερικού Εμπορίου, Αλεξάντερ Στουμπ, σπεύδοντας να «σβήσει τη φωτιά» που προκάλεσαν οι δηλώσεις του υπουργού Εξωτερικών της κυβέρνησης Κατάινεν, Ερκι Τουομιόγια, για το ενδεχόμενο διάλυσης της ευρωζώνης [1].
«Οι εικασίες του υπουργού Εξωτερικών δεν αντανακλούν τη θέση της κυβέρνησης», υποστήριξε ο κ. Στουμπ σε συνέντευξή του στο Reuters, διαβεβαιώνοντάς ότι «βλέπουμε το ευρώ ως ένα οικονομικό και πολιτικό πρότζεκτ στο οποίο είμαστε 100% προσηλωμένοι».
