Quotas européens de réfugiés: les recours hongrois et slovaque sont rejetés

La Cour de justice de l'Union européenne (CJUE) a rejeté "dans leur intégralité" les recours déposés par la Hongrie et la Slovaquie contre les quotas d'accueil de réfugiés décidés par les dirigeants européens en 2015, au plus fort de la crise migratoire.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the prime ministers of the Visegrad Four countries (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia) signed a joint statement here on Wednesday on global issues such as migration, fight against terrorism and the peace process in the Middle East.

The Polish interior minister confirmed on Monday the Visegrad group countries' (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) opposition to the "inefficient" quota system proposed by Brussels while vouching to support those who are fleeing non-EU countries.

Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka said in a TV interview on Sunday that the Czech Republic did not rule out taking actions over the introduction of permanent redistribution mechanisms of migrants among EU countries if they are approved.

Czech Republic to hold extraordinary V4 summit over migrants - Czech PM

The Czech Republic will convene an extraordinary summit of the Visegrad Four (V4: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) in mid-February to seek solutions to the migration crisis at the European level, announced Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka during his one-day visit to Bratislava on Tuesday.

Ukraine’s Ethnic Hungarians Need Autonomy. - Viktor Orban

BUDAPEST — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has renewed a plea for ethnic Hungarians in neighboring Ukraine to be granted autonomy even after a similar call last week drew a diplomatic backlash.

“Ukraine can be neither stable, nor democratic if it does not give its minorities, including Hungarians, their due,” Orban said on public television late on Friday. “That is, dual [Hungarian] citizenship, collective rights and autonomy.”

Quatre anciens pays communistes signent un pacte militaire commun

Quatre anciens pays communistes d'Europe centrale ont signé vendredi un pacte visant à coordonner leur stratégie de défense et créer une unité de combat commune au sein de l'Otan et de l'Union européenne, en réponse à la crise ukrainienne. 

"La situation actuelle en Europe illustre que malheureusement, un conflit militaire, impensable il y a peu, pourrait avoir lieu", a déclaré le ministre polonais de la Défense, Tomasz Siemoniak, lors d'une conférence de presse à Visegrad, une ville à 40 kilomètres au nord de Budapest.

Polish FM advises Ukraine to reach argeement with IMF to receive economic aid

VIENNA, February 24. /ITAR-TASS/. If it wants to unblock the macroeconomic aid package, Kiev should conclude an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said in Budapest on Monday at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group (V4) uniting four Central European States - Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.
