US says forms 'core coalition' to counter ISIS/ISIL militants

The United States said on Sept. 5 it was forming a "core coalition" to battle Islamic State in Syria and the Levant (ISIL) militants in Iraq, calling for broad support from allies and partners but ruling out committing ground forces.

"We need to attack them in ways that prevent them from taking over territory, to bolster the Iraqi security forces and others in the region who are prepared to take them on, without committing troops of our own," U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry told a meeting of 10 nations.

Allemagne : plus d’emplois mais aussi plus de pauvreté

Alors que les dirigeants politiques allemands achèvent en principe cette nuit leurs négociations pour former une grande coalition et que l'introduction d'un salaire minimum est au centre des débats, Destatis, l'office central de la statistique allemand, a publié ce mardi un bilan social de l'Allemagne particulièrement peu reluisant.

On y apprend que 16,1 % des Allemands étaient menacés de pauvreté (car percevant moins de 60 % du revenu médian) en 2011, soit une hausse de 0,9 % en quatre ans. Ces personnes qui, concrètement, gagnent moins de 980 euros nets par mois sont particulièrement nombreuses chez les 19-24 ans et les 55-64 ans.
