Ukraine Crisis Needs 20,000-Strong UN Force: Report

Russia concerned with U.S. military deployment in Ukraine

Russia is concerned with arrival of U.S. military personnel on Ukraine soil, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

"Up to 300 U.S. troops reportedly have been deployed to a peacekeeping center in Ukraine's western Lvov region," the ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told reporters.

Ukraine needs western arms to achieve peace, says foreign minister

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin has once again urged the West for arms supplies to Ukraine, saying Kiev needs them to achieve peace.

"Our appeal for supplies of modern defense weapons to Ukraine stays in place," the foreign minister told the German Bild daily. "We need them for peace, not for war," Klimkin said.

Two Israeli soldiers have been killed by a Hezbollah missile fired at at an Israeli military vehicle in the Shebaa farms are on the border with Syria and Lebanon.
The Israeli military confirmed that seven soldiers were also injured in Wednesday's strike.
