Several Lebanese soldiers wounded by suicide attack in northeast

Five suicide bombers attacked Lebanese soldiers as they raided two Syrian refugee camps in the Arsal area at the border with Syria on Friday and a sixth militant threw a hand grenade at a patrol, the army said. Seven soldiers were wounded.

More migrants sleeping in streets of Paris after ‘Jungle’ camp closes in Calais

The number of migrants sleeping rough on the streets of Paris has risen by at least a third since the start of the week when the “Jungle” shanty town in Calais was evacuated, officials said.

Dozens of migrants started gathering at a special hangar in Calais camp earlier than scheduled, at 08 a.m. local time (06:00 GMT). In the hangar, the camp residents will be divided into four groups: men, unaccompanied children, families and vulnerable persons.

UN agencies set up more support centers for refugees, migrants in Europe

The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the UN Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) are joining forces to set up special support centers for children and their families along the most frequently used migration routes in Europe as part of a joint effort for better protection for the rising numbers of children and others with specific needs arriving in Europe, a UN spokesman said here Friday.
